La cinéaste Mila Turajlić a grandi à Belgrade, dans l’appartement de sa famille divisé en parcelles par le régime communiste. Sa mère Srbijanka, activiste politique et farouche opposante à Milosevic, vit toujours dans cette moitié de foyer. Sa fille crée ici un petit bijou de cinéma, à la fois portrait d’une famille, réflexion sur l’engagement politique, et hommage à l’histoire fragmentée de l’ex-Yougoslavie. Lauréat du Grand Prix Documentaire, IDFA.
Filmmaker Mila Turajlić grew up in Belgrade, in her family’s apartment divided into parcels by the communist regime. Her mother Srbijanka, a political activist and fierce opponent of Milosevic, still lives in this half of the home. Her daughter creates here a small cinematic treasure, that is at the same time a portrait of a family, a reflection on political engagement, and a tribute to the fragmented history of the former Yugoslavia. Winner of the Grand Prix for Documentary Film, IDFA.
